Vehicle Photography Guidelines:
Photos are ineffective unless they clearly and accurately depict what you intend to illustrate and are sufficient for proving vehicle condition, prior damage, loss damage, etc.
Initial Photos Must:
– Be Timely
– Be Complete
– Prove the exact condition
– Show the extent of the visible loss damage observing all Direct Repair shops Guidelines, if any.
– Be taken on ALL vehicles
Damage Photos Must:
– Be taken using the best lighting conditions to show the extent of the damage
– Be taken using the best angles to show the extent of the specific damage
– Include all damaged loose parts showing the specific areas of damage
– Be taken both before and after disassembly
The most important point to remember is that just taking photos is not enough. The photos must be clear, properly lighted, and taken from angles that best highlight the subject.
There is no limit to the number of photos that can be taken, however, only the required and necessary photos will actually be uploaded to the insurance company. Any other quality photos should be stored on a hard drive in case they are needed in the future.
